five hundred twenty one thousand six hundred minutes, how do you measure a year?
House hunting is stressful, yesterday was tough because of this but also good because so far all my lectures/ seminars have been proper good - especially the seminars.
In my Texts in Time seminar yesterday we talked about opium visions and dreams (we're reading Confessions of an English Opium Eater by Thomas De Quincey) and discovered that only three people in the group, including me, can have lucid dreams (dreams that you can control and wake yourself up from) and so we just discussed that for ages and it was very fun. The people in this group are nicer and more eccentric, and i'm sitting next to a gorgeous Swedish girl who I think I may fall in love with.
Looking at two more houses today and one tomorrow and then making a decision, fingers crossed we'll get somewhere half decent and cheapy.
"...here was the secret of happiness, about which philosophers had disputed for so many ages, at once discovered; happiness might now be bought for a penny, and carried in the waistcoat-pocket; portable ecstasies might be had corked up in a pint-bottle; and peace of mind could be sent down by the mail."

you're the wax in my moustache, the keys to my car
Things which are good
1. My Peach and Raspberry flavoured Soothers for poorly times
2. The free Benefit eyeshadow that I got last night worth £14, this one:
3. The fact that I'm actually looking forward to starting lectures on Monday
4. When the sky above East Slope is dusky pink even at 3am (which seems to happen a lot), and how if you walk to the top of the hill the sky behind the slope is an eerie green colour - from the football stadium a while away i think.
5. Things that tickle my belly like this
Things which are bad
1. When foreign people with bad English accents are given subtitles on the news and in some documentaries - this upsets me because I always imagine that the person spent weeks and maybe even months getting excited about being on the news/ in a documentary and learning what they want to say and practising their English pronunciation, only to be subtitled anyway so they might as well have spoken in their native tongue. I don't know if this really happens but the thought always frustrates me.
2. Mucus coughs
ummm enough of this, more nice things now

won't you fill me up again
today is a funny day. I went into Brighton with Holly and Charlie and had a subway which I was insanely excited about and I bought some things with which to make myself feel better and less phloegmy (MUCUS COUGH MIXTURE, night and day flu capsules and peach & raspberry Soothers nom nom nom) and Charlie bought some eyeliner because he's a semi-gay 80s hair metal poser.
ummmmmm then Holly and I got one step further to buying a KITTEN because Holly phoned up the Brighton Cats Shelter which turned out to be a crazy old cat lady in some bungalow in a suburb outside Brighton so we might get a bus soon and pick one up. Our cat will be called Cinge dans les arbres (MONKEY IN THE TREES!) or Cinge-face for short.
I also went to the laundrette to wash my various skanky attires and spoke to my friend Joshua and watched Loose Women which was amusing. Now I'm drinking Apple and Rhubarb juice cause it's full of ANTIOXIDANTS and healthy things.
(this is from yesterday but i left my computer on and forgot to post it, oops)

Nothing can compare to when you roll the dice and swear your love's for me.
Apparently I talk about sex too much; I think this is true and I'm going to stop. Today Anna said a lovely thing to me; she said that she was genuinely glad that I was finally truly happy because 'it's amazing when good things happen to good people.' I've never thought I'm a particularly good person, but it made me feel warm and fuzzy inside all the same and I don't think I'll forget it in a hurry.
I've also been exponentially unhealthy today. I've eaten pasta, crisps, pizza, a subway, apple crumble and custard. I've smoked approximately six cigarettes. I've drunken lemonade and diet coke. Actually I had some pomegranate and blueberry juice this morning - therefore everything else is rectified, obviously. I started the day watching My Sister's Keeper; this depressed me somewhat not only due to the automatically depression-triggering plot, but because it didn't seem to be staying particularly faithful to the book and this always frustrates me. So I hopped in Jeff and drove to Anna's house where we smoked and ate junk and talked about people and places and life and the situations in which we find ourselves and went for a non-directional drive about, it was fun. Then I hopped back into Jeff and drove 10 minutes down the road to Katy's house, where we ate junk and watched cultural television and talked about people and places and life and the situations in which we find ourselves.
I'm going to make a list of things I need to do tomorrow, as I have misplaced my Lists book and my diary is far away.
1. Start packing for East Slope
2. Tidy room
3. Look at reading list for next term/ collect books I already have
4. Visit Katy maybe and BRING CHRISTMAS PRESENT
5. Do laundry for all clothes I want to take back to the Slope
6. Ask parentals for money
Yessir.

If I'm smart then I'll run away, but I'm not so I guess I'll stay
The last couple of days have been somewhat bizarre. Bizarre but very happy making and alcohol-related with some spurts of pain (both physical and emotional... well mainly physical, but we won't go into this).
